No.1/2 Dialknowe Holiday Cottage in Scotland's highest village, Wanlockhead, Dumfries and Galloway, may have a strange title for an address. It all becomes clear when you spot the second staircase and realise that once upon a time, this was in fact two cottages.
This charming and attractive cottage is a little bigger than it looks and has a few touches of quirkiness that can’t help but make you smile. A living room at the front provides the ideal place to unwind after a day of whatever, and the kitchen has everything you would need to enjoy your stay when preparing meals and snacks. There are three bedrooms spread over the cottage including a king size room on the ground floor, a twin room, then along in what would have been the old number one Dialknowe, a double room up the second staircase. The bathroom with a modern suite and over bath shower completes the property. Not far from the cottage in the village is the local pub where you’re sure to be welcomed. Admittedly Wanlockhead isn’t the hotspot for nightlife, that’s the whole appeal.
